Our combined experience covers both the editorial, communications, and video production management sides of the Courier; additionally, Adam has first assistant director experience (AKA project management) and Laura has a background in graphic design. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the quality content we produce and our main stakeholdersāCapU studentsāby recalibrating the content we produce in terms of quality and quantity. We plan to expand the news section by having two news editors and two news writers, in order to report in a more timely manner. On the other hand, we want to reduce the number of features into a single six-page piece, called āThe Profile,ā for which all contributors can pitch but only one will be chosen per month. Additionally, we want to magnify the potential for advocacy that the zine has had historically, and add an opinion/activism section to it that responds to our news reports, whether it is a call to action, grievances, or satirical pieces.
In terms of design and print, we want to switch to two colour printing because it will reduce the cost of printing and give our issues a more punk and rare aesthetic.

After my year and a half as a Contributing Writer, I joined the crew as Arts and Culture Editor. I freshly know what itās like to be on either side of the process. I want to try and sort out any issues we might have on the backend while making the process easier and full of learning for Contributors. I also wish to improve our News reporting and enforce journalistic standards and ethics where they should be enforced, while allowing students to use their voices in opinion pieces, artistic vision, web-exclusives and other areas.

Hey! I like a good challenge and task management. Iām a graphic designer for SAPP Zine in New Westminster, and I usually take leadership roles in team projects. Iām a people-oriented person, and want to aid people with self-expression. I am passionate about magazines and have made my own zines in the past, as well as am in the midst of making my own called āCapsule Zineā and āDamn b*itch? You live like this?'
