The Capilano Courier is Capilano University’s student newspaper. Autonomous and arts-focused, we do our thing in a little office in the Maple Building on CapU’s wooded North Shore campus.
One of only a handful of student newspapers in Canada to pay both its staff and contributors, the Courier is proud to work with a rotating cast of writers and graphic artists each week.
The Courier consists of a core staff of 10 to oversee pitches, editing, and production, in print and online.
Operating on a weekly publication schedule, The Courier includes community and campus news, arts and culture, features, technology, opinions, food, humour, music reviews, sports and campus events.

Pitch meetings take place every Tuesday at noon in Maple 122. CapU students are encouraged to attend and see what we’re all about.
Our section editors will pitch the stories for the week and contributors — maybe even you — will pick them up on a first come, first serve basis.
The deadline for editorial content is five days later, at which time stories will be handed in to the assigning editor. Custom art will be commissioned by our production department as our editors work with you to ready your story for publication.
